How Carey Hart and Pink Maintain Their Marriage: 'Support One Another'

Earlier this year, Pink and Carey Hart marked their 19th wedding anniversary. This is a remarkable milestone for any couple, and especially significant for a celebrity marriage. “I’ve spent more time with you than without,” she reflected in a January 7 Instagram post dedicated to her husband. “You’ve been my rock.”

Carey, a 49-year-old retired motocross athlete, shared exclusively with Life & Style that there isn't any special trick to sustaining their relationship. “There’s no magic formula, just listen to each other, communicate, and truly be present for one another,” Carey explained, noting that he and Pink have faced challenges, including temporary separations in 2003 and 2008. “Life has its hardships; it’s always about returning to the discussion.”

The 45-year-old “Try” singer concurs that listening to each other is essential. However, since she and Carey have different communication styles, Pink mentions they benefit from couples counseling with their longtime life coach Vanessa Inn to maintain their understanding. “If it weren’t for Vanessa interpreting for me,” she shared during a 2020 Instagram Live session, “we wouldn’t be together.”

GROWING TOGETHER

Pink observes that both she and Carey — who started dating in 2001 and share two children, Willow, 13, and Jameson, 8 — did not have strong marital role models when they were growing up. "We both come from families that gave up, and that’s OK," she explained to Extra! "But for us, we don’t want to do that." This determination means they support each other in numerous ways. Carey is "just the most sensitive, supportive guy in the world," Pink also said to Extra! "Any dream I've ever had, [he's been like,] 'Yes, I'm with you.'"

Naturally, when those dreams involve performing globally, the family has to think outside the box. Carey and the kids frequently join Pink on her tours, most recently during her Summer Carnival Tour. "My wife finished her world tour just before Thanksgiving, and we're now readjusting to normal life at home," Carey shared with Life & Style. “My kids transitioned from living in luxury accommodations and being homeschooled to returning to regular school and early morning routines. But they are enjoying it. They are back to being regular kids with their friends and after-school activities.”

The marriage between Pink and Carey will undoubtedly continue to evolve, but their commitment remains strong. “You have loved me, hated me, and loved me again,” Pink shared in her anniversary post on Instagram. “I love our story no matter what gets written. It is gritty and sweet.
