Diplo is soaring high this New Year's!
The 46-year-old DJ disclosed during an interview on "New Year’s Eve Live with Andy Cohen & Anderson Cooper" on Tuesday, Dec. 31, that he was under the influence of LSD, much to the astonishment of hosts Andy Cohen and Anderson Cooper.
In a clip shared by Pop Crave on X (formerly Twitter), Cohen, 56, inquired of Diplo via video link, "Where is the most typical spot you've taken LSD?" Diplo replied, "Right now."
"Right now?" Cohen repeated in surprise as Cooper, 57, burst into laughter.
"Yeah, I took some in the helicopter on my way here," Diplo stated while Cooper continued laughing. "I'm not even kidding," he added.
Diplo spotted in Los Angeles in May 2024. "Oh my God, hold on... tell me — You’re on LSD right now?" Cohen queried.
"Yeah, but it's a mild trip," Diplo responded. He elaborated that he was "microdosing" and mentioned that he might have "macrodosed" earlier in the day, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
PEOPLE sought a comment from Diplo.
Cooper expressed admiration for the musician following the interview, stating, according to the outlet, "I wish I were Diplo. I must say, he seems to have a fun and cool life. Can you imagine his life? 'I'm Diplo. I do things.'"

The presenter confessed that he wasn’t following Diplo on Instagram before the interview but plans to do so now. "I'm definitely going to start," Cooper said, per The Hollywood Reporter. "I mean... I feel bad about my own boring life compared to Diplo’s. He has helicopters and he’s always doing things."
Cohen added that Diplo "had about four shots while we were talking," admiringly adding, "And he’s still going to perform. How does he function? How does anyone do anything? After four shots, I just want to sleep."

Diplo’s admission about LSD comes after he discussed feeling uncomfortable about his TikTok presence in an interview with The Wall Street Journal's Katherine Finnerty at Journal House during the Cannes Lions festival, published on June 19.
"As a musician and a DJ/producer, branding was never my thing. Watching Doja Cat or Lil Nas X on TikTok is impressive because they excel with that platform," he remarked. "Being 45, I often find my own TikToks somewhat embarrassing... Occasionally I create something funny, but it really is a platform for younger audiences.
