“Please Please Please” tell us it’s not true! Sabrina Carpenter and Barry Keoghan have decided to end their relationship of one year — and an insider exclusively revealed to Life & Style that their demanding schedules are the reason.
The Saltburn actor, 32, has been busy filming Crime 101 in Los Angeles, while the “Taste” singer, 25, has been touring since September when she began the North American leg of her Short n’ Sweet Tour. “Being apart so often was tough, and the long-distance situation ultimately led to their breakup,” the source shared. “Sabrina and Barry haven’t ruled out the possibility of rekindling their relationship in the future, but for now, it’s over.”
Dating rumors about the former couple began in December 2023 when they were seen having dinner together in Brentwood, California. Speculation grew as they were spotted together on several occasions, including at the 2024 Vanity Fair Oscars party in March.
Barry and Sabrina eventually made their official red carpet debut as a couple at the Met Gala in May, arriving together, posing individually, and then taking a photo together at the end of the carpet.
Once their relationship was confirmed publicly, Barry and Sabrina appeared to be more at ease with their romance under the spotlight, with Barry even featuring in her June music video for her hit song “Please Please Please.”
During an appearance on CBS Sunday Morning in October, Sabrina discussed her choice to cast Barry in the music video. “I, genuinely — from an unbiased perspective — wanted the best actor for the music video, and he happened to be sitting next to me,” she said. “He was thrilled to be a part of it.”
“And he really likes the song, which is wonderful.”
Sabrina went on to say that Barry is a fan of the song, mentioning that he really enjoys her music.
Barry continued to show his support for Sabrina by attending multiple concerts of hers, including her performance at Coachella in April. However, by August, breakup rumors started circulating when the gossip account DeuxMoi shared an anonymous tip suggesting they had ended their relationship. Neither Sabrina nor Barry made any public comments on these reports, and they seemed to remain together until news of their separation emerged in early December.

Addressing these accusations, the Bring Them Down actor released a statement denying the claims and explained that he deactivated his Instagram account to protect his son, Brando.
“I can only tolerate so much. My name has been dragged through the internet in ways I typically don't respond to,” Barry wrote in a screenshot shared via his X account on December 7. “I have to respond now because boundaries are being crossed. I deactivated my account because I can no longer allow these distractions to interfere with my family and my work. The messages I've received are unbearable for anyone to read. Absolute lies, hatred, and vile comments about my appearance, character, parenting abilities, and other inhumane propositions.
