Nikki Glaser Delayed 'Highly Intrusive' Cosmetic Procedure After Being Presented Golden Globes Host Position

Comedian Nikki Glaser is postponing any thought of plastic surgery to focus on a major career opportunity as she gets ready to host the 82nd annual Golden Globe Awards in January 2025.

In an interview with CBS Mornings on Sunday, Dec. 29, Glaser shared that she had initially planned to schedule a cosmetic surgery around the same time as the Golden Globes.

“So, for January 2025, I was considering having a brow lift or another significant procedure that I had been looking into,” said Glaser during the show. However, after receiving a call from her two agents, she decided to hold off on the surgery.

Nikki Glaser performs at the 3rd Annual Friendly House Comedy Fundraiser at The Bourbon Room on April 7, 2024, in Hollywood, California. "When two agents call, you know it's good news because bad news is usually delivered by just one person," Glaser explained. "They asked if there was any chance I could delay the procedure until the second week of January."

In August, CBS and the Golden Globes announced that Glaser would be hosting the event on Sunday, Jan. 5, 2025.

Regarding this opportunity, Glaser stated: “I am incredibly excited to host the Golden Globes. It’s one of my favorite TV events, and now I get to be right in the middle of it (although I’ll be on stage hosting).”

Nikki Glaser speaks onstage during The Greatest Roast Of All Time: Tom Brady for the Netflix is a Joke Festival at The Kia Forum on May 5, 2024, in Inglewood, Calif. Glaser humorously added: “The Golden Globes is a significant night for television, film, and comedy. It’s one of the rare occasions where the entertainment industry not only accepts but encourages being lovingly teased (I really hope that’s the case)."

Known for her performances on Comedy Central Roasts, Glaser's latest Emmy, Grammy, and Golden Globe-nominated comedy special, Nikki Glaser: Someday You'll Die, is now available on Max.

Glaser also recently took part in a "roast" of Tom Brady, the former New England Patriots quarterback, during Netflix’s live event, The Greatest Roast of All Time: Tom Brady in May — alongside host Kevin Hart, Julian Edelman, Rob Gronkowski, Nikki Glaser, Drew Bledsoe, Randy Moss, and Kim Kardashian.

Regarding the roast, Glaser recently shared with PEOPLE, “I suspect Gisele wasn’t thrilled with my remarks," referring to Brady’s former wife, supermodel Gisele Bündchen.

During the May 5 event, one of Glaser’s quips included: “Tom Brady, five-time Super Bowl MVP, most career wins, most career touchdowns, you have seven rings — well, eight now that Gisele gave hers back,” referencing their 2022 separation.

Glaser now reveals she was unsure about mentioning Bündchen in her joke. “I included her in a joke, which I reconsidered because she wasn’t present, and I thought, ‘She doesn’t deserve this.’ But then I reminded myself that she’s one of the most stunning people in the world and figured, ‘She can probably handle it,’” explained the FBoy Island host.

The 2025 Golden Globe Awards will be broadcast live on Sunday, Jan. 5, from 8 to 11 p.m. on the CBS Television Network, and will also be available for streaming on Paramount.
