Jana Kramer openly discussed her breast augmentation in 2021, but the One Tree Hill star has expressed “regret” over the motivation behind her decision to go through with the surgery.
“My biggest regret about my breasts is that I’m not sure if I did it entirely for myself,” Jana, 41, confessed on her “Whine Down” podcast on Monday, February 24. “The best advice I can give is to make sure it’s one hundred percent for you.”
So, who influenced Jana's decision to have plastic surgery? It was for her third ex-husband, Mike Caussin, whom she divorced in 2021 after six years of marriage. They ended their relationship due to Mike’s alleged infidelity and his struggle with sex addiction. Together, they have two children: daughter Jolie Rae Caussin, 9, and son Jace Caussin, 6.
In the podcast episode, Jana revealed that seeing the women Mike, 37, cheated with made her feel inadequate. “I would look at them and think, 'I don’t look anything like them.’”
“I reasoned to myself that maybe if I had larger breasts, he wouldn’t cheat or he’d find me more attractive,” the “I Got the Boy” singer admitted. She later shared that "post-divorce, I had a lot of fun with them because Mike never actually got to touch them ... which was quite satisfying.”
GettySince then, Jana has embraced a “natural” lifestyle and has no plans to replace her breast implants when “the time comes for [her] to remove and replace them.”
Although Jana and Mike’s marriage officially ended in 2021, their troubles began soon after they exchanged vows. In August 2016, seven months after the birth of their daughter Jolie, Jana and Mike separated.
Soon after, Us Weekly disclosed that the ex-NFL player was unfaithful to the Country Crush actress with several women, and they also noted that he had entered a treatment facility for sex addiction.
A month later, Jana initiated divorce proceedings against Mike but retracted her petition within two days. The couple reconciled in 2017 and expanded their family with the birth of their son Jace in November of that year. Despite their attempts, Mike continued to struggle with his sex addiction, leading Jana to file for divorce again, this time for good, in April 2021. The divorce was finalized three months after.
"It's time." Reflecting on a reality she never wanted to face again, Jana shared these thoughts on Instagram at the time. "I've fought hard. I've loved deeply, forgiven, and put in all the effort. I've given it my all, and now there's nothing left for me to give."
Jana and Mike have managed to build a stable co-parenting relationship for the sake of their children.
The "Heart of the Country" actress has since moved on and married her fourth husband, Allan Russell, in July 2024. Jana and the soccer coach share a son named Roman James Russell.
In October 2024, Jana discussed how she and Allan maintain their honeymoon phase while raising a family, in an exclusive interview with Life & Style. "We make sure to have at least one date night every other week," she mentioned at the time.
