Adrianne Curry-Rhode is celebrating a significant moment in her self-love journey.

On Monday, Jan 6, the 42-year-old former model and winner of the first cycle of America's Next Top Model reflected on the "complete transformation" she has undergone in the five years since her breast implant removal surgery.

As stated by the Cleveland Clinic, this surgery entails taking out silicone or saline implants. While some individuals choose this procedure for personal reasons, others do so in response to health issues like tissue hardening around the implant.

In a post on Instagram and X, Curry-Rhode commemorated the fifth anniversary of her breast implant removal by discussing her journey of recovery.

"The first year, I was in tears constantly. I had lost over 90% of my natural breast tissue to necrosis and refused to undergo fat transfer. I was no longer willing to jeopardize my health for aesthetics," she explained. "It was a profound lesson in humility and vulnerability."

The reality TV alum, who wed Matthew Rhode in 2018, acknowledged his critical role in her development.

"My husband had to remove all my stitches because of our remote location and the weather conditions. I was brought to my lowest point and emerged from the ordeal with my vanity extinguished. It took a full two years for my breasts to appear normal," she wrote. "My husband was my steadfast support....and I still can't fathom how little he cared about my 'frankentitties.'"

Reflecting on the journey, Curry-Rhode harbors no regrets.

I am content and in good health, and I would never recommend plastic surgery, even to my worst foe. It did not alleviate my body dysmorphia and only resulted in years of pain," she expressed. "Accept yourself as you are. For me, that means living with significantly less than what I had before."

Last July, PEOPLE reconnected with Curry-Rhode, who shared that she has "found tranquillity with nature and herself" since relocating from Hollywood to a more serene life in Montana.

"I left and now earn substantially less money, but I feel that I have regained my dignity and soul. From the moment I won Top Model up until that point, I felt like large parts of me were being eroded," she remarked.

"And it's like every year you lose another part and think, 'I won't miss this small piece,' just to keep going," she added.
