The Bachelor is set to return for its 29th season in 2025. This season will follow Grant Ellis as he searches for true love after having his heart broken by Jenn Tran on The Bachelorette.
When Is the Premiere of ‘The Bachelor’ Season 29?
Season 29 of The Bachelor will premiere on ABC on Monday, January 27, 2025, at 8 p.m. ET. The show typically features two-hour episodes each week, with recent seasons averaging between 10 and 12 episodes.
Who Is the New Bachelor for Season 29?
Grant Ellis will take the lead role this season. Grant participated in The Bachelorette's 21st season but Jenn eliminated him in week 6, prior to the hometown dates.
His selection as the new Bachelor was made public after his elimination episode, which aired on August 12, 2024. "As the Bachelor, Ellis is excited to start a journey full of romance, adventure, and meaningful connections," an ABC press release stated. "He aims to find a partner who values loyalty, humor, and who appreciates life’s simple joys."
In December 2024, ABC shared a teaser video with more details about Grant and his search for love. “I’m from New Jersey. A mama’s boy. A day trader. An athlete. A goofball,” he described himself in the clip. “I’m in pursuit of love. I want a wife. I’m seeking happiness. To achieve your desires in life, you need to take risks. Love requires choice and effort. But, ultimately, the most challenging things offer the greatest rewards.”

Grant played college basketball at Iona University in New York before transferring to Alberta Magnus College in Connecticut. He had a brief career in professional basketball overseas that was cut short by an injury. Afterwards, Grant transitioned to a career in finance, relocated to Texas, and began working as a day trader.
‘The Bachelor’ Season 29 Trailer
ABC revealed the initial full trailer for the 29th season of The Bachelor on December 15, 2024. The trailer opened with scenes of several women on Grant’s season speaking highly of him. “Grant really checks all the boxes,” one woman remarked, while another emphasized, “Tall, handsome, smart. Hottest Bachelor ever.” Another chimed in with, “Grant is genuine. He’s earnestly looking for a wife and a mother for his children.”
The preview then showcased Grant’s musical side, with scenes of him rapping on stage and playing the piano while singing to one of the women. “Music is a key part of how I express myself,” he confessed. “I’m ready to get married. I’m ready to find my wife. I’m ready to have kids. I’m ready for it all.”

Naturally, the trailer also hinted at some drama. “Sharing you with so many women feels unnatural to me,” one contestant told Grant, highlighting a frequent issue on the show.
Additionally, two women clashed during a cocktail party, with one exclaiming, “I haven’t even had a chance to talk to him yet.”
You've had four conversations with him. You want to discuss aggression? You are the one being aggressive." This led to a further confrontation when one woman accused another, saying, "You're behaving as if you're indifferent, as if you don't want to be here," to which she replied, "He understands my feelings! I suppose I'm just irrational and malicious.
The preview concluded with Grant sharing his deepest fear - the fear of being alone. He disclosed that he even had a "lone wolf" tattoo which "stands for solitude."
"As a child, I always pretended everything was fine," Grant confessed. "My family wasn’t aware of my loneliness. Going forward, I don't want that to define my life anymore. I want to find happiness and love. These are crucial to me. However, I am afraid of making the wrong choice."
Soon after, he faced host Jesse Palmer during the final rose ceremony. "Do you feel certain about your decision?" Jesse questioned. Grant admitted, "Honestly... I am not sure." Time was running out, as the former Bachelor advised him, "Both women are ready and waiting. I need to know which one to let go first."
Season 28 Bachelor Joey Graziadei also made a brief cameo in the trailer, when he met with Grant to offer some encouragement.
