Travis Kelce played a key role in recreating a memorable moment from the Eras tour during a surprise celebration for Taylor Swift. On Thursday, December 19, the singer’s close friend Ashley Avignone shared additional snapshots from the event.
One of these images captured 35-year-old Travis placing a hat on Taylor’s head, mirroring a cherished "Red" era moment from the Eras tour. “And the last 22 hat goes to …” Ashley, 39, captioned the photo on her Instagram Story. In the picture, Taylor, also 35, beams as Travis crowns her with the hat, reminiscent of her gesture to a young fan at each show.
This endearing interaction occurred during Taylor’s performance of “22.” Throughout the tour, she would select one lucky audience member, meet them at the stage's edge, and present them with her hat, resulting in heartwarming viral moments shared widely online.
Additional photos posted by Ashley feature Taylor alongside the stylist and friends, including Danielle Haim, Este Haim, and Alana Haim, as well as group shots with Patrick Mahomes and Brittany Mahomes. The friends recreated the “Willow” segment from the Eras tour, complete with green capes and dancing, and even included a cleaning cart to mimic Taylor's mode of stage entrance.
“When she thought she was heading to a small, intimate dinner but found herself at a huge surprise party with friends and family, complete with themed props,” Ashley wrote. Since Travis missed the final Eras concert, this celebration was his way of honoring Taylor, who also turned 35 on December 13.
GettyJoJo Edwards Helaire, another party guest, later confirmed on TikTok that the surprise event was organized by Travis as a congratulations to Taylor for her landmark tour success.
The Eras tour wrapped up on December 8 in Vancouver.
Attendees sported outfits inspired by the tour. Travis and Patrick, both 29, emulated the outfit the tight end wore during one of Taylor’s concerts in London. Brittany, also 29, donned a sparkly fringe dress, echoing the one Taylor wore in the Fearless segment of the show. Ashley accessorized with a snake around her neck to symbolize the Reputation era.
Post-tour, Taylor appears to be spending the majority of her time in Kansas City. She visited a children’s hospital on December 12, engaging with several patients, but has mostly stayed out of the public eye.
With her commitments reduced, Taylor now has more opportunities to support Travis at his remaining football games this season. She has already attended several home games when possible, though she has yet to be seen at an away game in the 2024-2025 season. The Chiefs have a home game scheduled for Saturday, December 21, and it is anticipated that Taylor will be in attendance.
