RHOSLC's Bronwyn and Britani Clash Over Theatre Assertions

Real Housewives of Salt Lake City newcomer Bronwyn Newport and “friend of” cast member Britani Bateman have been at odds since the premiere of season 5. In a recent segment, Lisa Barlow mentioned that she “knew [Bronwyn] wasn't fond of [Britani] because she believed [Britani] lied about her Broadway involvement.”

The disagreement escalated during the RHOSLC After Show broadcasted on Wednesday, December 4. The following scene showed Bronwyn, 39, discussing Britani’s alleged deception with co-star Whitney Rose.

“So, I am new to the Broadway scene,” Bronwyn explained. “I’ve produced my first show and have two more set for the next season. While I’m no expert, I can confidently say that in my brief experience, I have not encountered Britani’s name in the Broadway industry. I know she tells people that.”

Whitney, 38, chimed in to confirm if Britani, 51, had “claimed Broadway.”

“Absolutely,” Bronwyn affirmed. “Additionally, I don’t think ‘accoladed’ is a legitimate word. I know she uses it in her bio, but it seems fabricated.”

The audience then saw a subtitle clarifying that “accoladed” is indeed a real word and Britani had used it accurately. Bronwyn expressed her desire to see these accolades, as Whitney, founder of Wild Rose Beauty, mentioned that although she supports local theater in Salt Lake City, she had never seen Britani perform.

Britani defended her claims to Lisa, 49, stating that she and a friend of Andy Cohen’s had appeared in the same Broadway production. She clarified it was the “second national tour of ‘Miss Saigon.’”

“I can’t sing, and everyone’s witnessed my poor dancing. I’m not claiming to be a better performer than Britani, but I think it’s important to be honest about your achievements,” Bronwyn continued as the cameras shifted back to her and Whitney. “If Britani performed in a touring or high school production, or even sings in her shower, she should stick to those facts instead of falsely claiming she was on Broadway.”

Fred Hayes/BravoNevertheless, Britani asserted that Bronwyn “admitted off-camera that she knows [Britani] was involved in Broadway.” Lisa’s reaction indicated her surprise at the revelation.

“That’s not true, because she has been adamant with me that you never did,” Lisa responded.

Bronwyn later added that her "attitude" was because Britani was supposedly "embellishing."

“I think she is most likely a talented performer and singer,” Bronwyn commented. “She probably fits into that scene. I just don’t see her being as influential there as she suggests.”

The newcomer to RHOSLC then jokingly suggested that Britani should “try out” for her, but quickly retracted, stating, “that would not go well” for Britani.

Britani concluded her discussion regarding her Broadway achievements, accusing Bronwyn of lying.

“She has been caught in her falsehoods, and I find that incredibly embarrassing,” Britani asserted. “I just don’t understand why she singles me out with these accusations.”
